Neighbours building work fouling phone line

Probably not the right forum but couldn't find how to ask on Openreach... 😕

My neighbours are doing building work and my phone line into the house will eventually rest on their roof.  The new roof obstructs the line of sight from the pole to where the cable comes into my house.

Am I correct in believing this will ultimately wear the cable and cause problems, and if so, who is responsible (arrangements and costs) for resolving the issue?

Your neighbour should’ve contacted Openreach and arranged for a Network Rearrangement.

I’d hazard a guess if they did then they either didn’t want to go ahead with the work due to the cost of it or they agreed to have it done but gave up on Openreach moving it after several failed promises.
