My understanding is that the majority (although not all) HDR content on Netflix and Prime is also 4K. I believe that by changing the HDMI format from 10bit to 8bit, you will lose the benefit of HDR if that is what your TV supports.
Hi @Steve-Silver ,
So by changing the display setting to HDMI 10 bit removed the option to display in 4k but can still view available content with HDR through Netflix/Amazon etc
When display is set to HDMI 8bit, It shows the option to view in both 4k and HDR?
I’m not sure what the 8bit 10bit option is for (apart from not being able to display 4k through 10 bit)
perhaps it enhances something my tv does not support.
thanks for the reply and be interested to know whether any one can get 4k through the 10 bit setting.
You are correct, and I was mistaken.
I do lose HDR by changing the HDMI format from 10bit to 8bit,
but if I change it to 10bit I lose the option off 4k?
Is this issue the same for everyone?
Is there any way to have both HDR and 4k via the bt pro box?
