Hi
looking at connecting a network switch on to my BT Samrt Hub, without being simple. DO i just connect the network switch into one of the existing ethernet ports on the back of the hub and are there any changed on the Hub software to make it a modem to do this. any help appreciated
Thanks
Just plug the switch into any LAN port. The switch will be totally transparent and the hub will have no knowledge of it.
Why would you think you need to make it a modem to connect a switch?
It was the way I did it with Virgin Media last time I setup this type of connection and thanks
Are you sure you mean a switch and not another router? They are entirely different things.
Thanks Would I need to replace the BT Smart 2 with another router to get extra Ethernet ports. or just plug into the lan as you mentioned
If it just an Ethernet switch to increase the number of ports, you just plug it in. That was why I was confused about your mention of modem mode and reconfiguring a Virgin router.
Thank u
