Network uptime vs System uptime

Go to solution

Can someone clarify what this means?

I'm having occasional loss of broadband, so keeping an eye on the stats on the smarthub.

My Smarthub Manager reports:

Network uptime: 0 Days, 14 Hours 9 Minutes
System uptime: 1 Days, 3 Hours 56 Minutes

Usually when my hub reboots itself (which it does occasionally) the network uptime is the same as System uptime.

Why would it be different?

Network uptime is exactly that, the time since a line or network disconnection.

System uptime is time since hub last rebooted.

A reboot will reset both counters but a line disconnection will only reset the Network uptime counter.

Interesting.... I wonder what caused a line disconnection in the early hours?

We've just had the cable from the pole to the property replaced, together with a new socket (hence the reason I'm constantly checking the stats).

Possibly DLM caused the disconnection.

Yes, that would make sense, I guess.

DLM action normally (though not always) takes place between 03.00-05.00 as this is considered the least likely time the connection will be in use.
