New Huawei ONT

 New Huawei ONT is now out. Anyone getting FTTP Installed anytime soon may end up with one.

I’ve had mine for a few months now. Why have you got a bit of paper on it?

These are the new Huawei ones, which has only just been released. They look like the Nokia ONT, which is most likely what you have.

And the piece of paper is to cover the ONT Serial Number. Leave that in the picture and I might as well just print my full name.

Yes that is a Huawei one, the old one. My picture is of the new one. Hence why I said, ‘the new Huawei ONT’.

Notice mine doesn’t have a TELE1 Port?

Yes I was wondering why you didn’t have the TELE1 Port and the associated LED. How will you get VOIP if available?

Tele1 was a proprietary system FVA (Fibre Voice Access) rather than a universal VOIP option which doesn't require a phone port on the ONT. FVA has been discontinued and replaced with Digital Voice which is supplied as a DECT signal from the SH2.

What he said, FVA and VOiP are different services.

FVA is, or was an Openreach Product they have now stopped taking new orders for and are getting rid of it and it’ll be up to CP’s to Provide VOiP.
