Broadband smarthub setups using 'Public Network' where I have security restrictions. How do I change it to set up in 'Private Network' instead? Doesn't let me change it. This was not the problem on previous ISP

New connections are assumed to be public, until you change them.
Also, make sure you turn off smart setup.

Thanks for your help. Although none of the advice given resolved my problem directly, it did identify that I had an issue with a Critical Update in BIOS which had become considerably outdated. So not a BT issue.
Fortunately I had maintenance cover and got technical support to update and flash the BIOS, as I couldn't perform this process via Windows Update.
So indirectly, each one helped by process of elimination. All sorted!
