Test socket may help if you current connection is unstable and is the cause of DLM putting connection into banded profile with the new style master make sure front is securely clipped in place
I might be being stupid but I don’t seem to be able to plug the hub directly into the test socket - the plug is the smaller square type than a standard phone plug..!
what am I missing.?
A filter.
It converts RJ11 to phone socket.

One of these or a similar microfilter.
Thanks both
Tried with a filter and nothing else plugged in (master socket) and no difference - I suspect their wont be though as the IP Profile is now set - from what I understand it might re-evaluate itself after 10 days of so of stability - but tis not what the last engineer told me 🙂
Do you think I should be asking BT to ask OR to reset it for me, bring the speed back up and then let it settle to what it believes is a stable level..?
Just not sure where to go now as BT told me yesterday they won't get an engineer out as its above the 23Mb stay fast...
Thx
if you are able to post new hub stats when you are connected to the test socket see if any changes especially in attenuation and connection speed/attainable
I’m just waiting for my next door to get back to borrow his filter again (BT told me I didn’t need them anymore so I slung mine) as I have the new style faceplate
should I still be using filters then..?
thx
You only need to use the filter to connect to the test socket as a test to see if eliminating the master faceplate and any internal wiring will improve your connection
ok - sorry for the delay - I have connected up to thr test socket with the filter - here are the info details now
OK - now I am really confused...
BT told me that my line is capable of getting up to 52Mb - They also told me full fibre is not available yet.
My next door neighbour (literally 20-30 feet away) is also with BT and sent me a screen shot of his speed last night and again this morning - 84Mb last night and 81 this morning..
That speed sounds like full fibre to me - he confirmed his bill is also £49 for just BB and Phone.
So BT are reluctant to come out to me as I get at least the minimum 23Mb but next door get over 80Mb....??
How can that be?
