Not getting 4K picture I expect. Help..🤔

Hi Everyone.

Thanks for taking time to read. 

4K picture for BT Sport isn't great for me when compared to friends Sky sports HD. Seems players are little blurry and pixelated up close. When watched on BT Ultimate channel I feel a bit underwhelmed..can you see anything below that might be causing?

 

1. TV is  Sony kd55xd8599. BT fibre broadband. Wired to TV (not wireless) current download speed is 45mbs down and 20mbs up on home hub5. No issue on buffering/connection.

 

2. TV although not listed as compatible has the requirements from what I can see HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.  

 

3. I had external company some time back in to run cables in past as the hub isn't in the living room. Is there a specific cable requirement on the HDMI and CAT5 that comes with the BT 4K box which are needed to attach to the TV? I'm not sure exactly what technical spec I have but can anyone confirm what is special on the cables that are shipped?

4. Any obvious settings on the BT Youview box I should have? In picture-)hdmi display I have " UHD 50fps 8bit" and if I change that to the 10bit option it doesn't seem to accept. What setting should this be?

5. Anything else that I can check to see what is the issue here?

Update - watching a 4K playback of the Champions League final via BT Sport app on my TV is PERFECT yet live BT 4k matches via the 433 channel are grainy and not as clear they should.

Why would this be?

My subscription is soon up on my contract. I think dropping BT 4K package is my only option. No point paying for something I'm not getting..

We don't have any replays available in 4K @Cwoods - they're 1080p50, so your TV must be doing a good job of upscaling them. 4K is only available for live events.
I can't really offer any comment on your issue with the IP channels though I'm afraid.

I would say I’m slightly underwhelmed by the 4K picture on BT Sport ‘Ultimate’ but only in comparison to a HDR 4K stream , when another company ( think of a river in  South America) recently had some mid week EPL matches in  HDR,  the picture was very impressive,  but in comparison to ‘ordinary’ HD BT Ultimate compares well.
