OpenReach line at previous Virgin Media address

Go to solution

I’m moving into a rental property.
Every OpenReach provider says they need to send an engineer to install a BT Socket. (I am unsure if this will involve drilling or not, it’s a rental property so permission would be needed).

After digging around it seems Virgin Media was at that address and it may be the current line.

My question is, would an OpenReach engineer replace the Virgin line with a OpenReach line or would the engineer install the line side by side (thus avoiding drilling and setting up more cables)?

thanks

Openreach will not use existing virgin wiring and would install new wiring and a master socket

Openreach cannot legally use any Virgin Media infrastructure, that includes any lines to a property.
