Go to solution

Hello,

Does anybody succeed with own (non-BT) router setup for BT Halo?
Can't find any suggestions on that...

Thanks,
Andrey.

Halo is just a benefits add-on, it has nothing to do with technology.

You can use any third party router with any flavour of BT broadband as long as you use the appropriate device for the type of broadband you have.

If you have G.Fast, third party modems or modem/routers are very thin on the ground.

Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

I have Full Fiber connection, so no instructions for this case...

Thanks,
Andrey.

@AndyNN

If you are using Digital Voice, then you have to keep using the Smart Hub 2, if you want to keep your phone connection.

If you have full fibre, then you just need a router with a WAN port, you won't need a modem/router as the ONT is the modem. There are countless to choose from, only you can decide the features you require.

The only configuration details you need are the PPPoE username and password which are the generic bthomehub@btbroadband.com and BT respectively.
