Hi, I’m working from home and need a solution for work calls. Please can anyone help?
What I’m after is an adapter/switch that would allow me to plug my landline phone handset and my answering machine into the main phone socket, but switching between one and the other when I don’t want to be disturbed. The reason for this is that I want phone calls to go to my landline phone during the day, and into my standalone answering machine at night. This is because the standalone answering machine has the capacity to play a recorded message giving the caller options for out of hours support, without allowing the caller to leave a message - otherwise any messages left overnight are ‘my’ problem the following day.
Granted I can unplug manually, but this is a bit of a faff when I just need to divert calls in a hurry.
I remember we had such a splitter/diverter switch for ‘day’ and ‘night’ calls when I worked at Customs & Excise 20-odd years ago. Can’t seem to find such a thing anywhere online though!

If so you need to post here https://business.forums.bt.com/
Why not have call divert to a spare mobile phone that has messaging set?
