Phone says unavailable

my bt 3110 deck phone says unavailable.  Have tried reregistering but it does not work

do you have digital voice or do you still connect your phone the openreach phone socket.  if you have DV then you need to connect your phone to the phone socket on back of hub - you may need to remove the sticker

  • I don't what open reach means or digital voice. It's a 3 handset deck phone.

you posted back in december 2020 about this phone and problems but you then posted everything was working ok so what has changed?

Openreach provides the network/infrastructure that terminates at you master phone socket where your DECT base plugs into).  Digital Voice is BT's new landline service which comes via broadband as opposed to the old copper network.  You would/should know if you were being switched to DV.

Try a corded phone (less than a tenner or borrow one) in the master socket to confirm you have a dial tone.

With the DECT system unplugged disconnect the batteries, line cord and mains power, wait for10 minutes, then reconnect and try again.

Yes it was sorted but I was away from parents for 6 months and now it is messed up with one handset

So does the system work on 2 handsets but not on the other handset or it does not work at all.  Is there a dial tone?
