Hi everyone. I’m having issues with throttling with my BT broadband at peak time 7-10.30pm. 5 of my neighbours and people on the next street are experiencing the same. Some are with BT and some are with other providers. Just today this pole has been installed. Anyone know of this will increase or decrease the speeds we’re getting. Usually all day we get 40mbps. When they throttle at peak time everyone goes to 5mbps. Thanks.
a new pole won't help congestion on your connection
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
can you run btspeedtester when download seems ok and then again when the speed is poor and post must be done using ethernet connection NOT wireless
