Poor connection following house move

I have Fibre 1 which worked perfectly in my previous house, since moving I am only seeing a maximum of 2 bars signal and connection is slow. I have done the usual checks to no avail. I tried the speed checker which comes up with ‘unable to check your speed’ reset the router. I have done this and unplugged everything but no difference, I am using a micro filter , each time I try to contact BT all I get is the answer that no one is available. Before I make a formal complaint, is there anything else that I can try?

@stevetoal55

Your wireless signal strength would not be affected by your broadband speed, but a low signal level would result in a lower speed on that device. Wireless signal strength depends on the environment, and the distance from the home hub.

Enter your phone number into this form and display the results here, but edit out your phone number before you post the results.

What download are you getting on a wired connection?

Thanks for the swift response, result attached. The only wired connection is to  a Freesat box, no problems streaming at all.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

Actual speeds experienced by end users and quoted by CPs will be lower due to a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service

In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.

Re: Poor connection following house move

You should be seeing a connection speed of between  28.2Mbs  and 36.2Mbs. The download speed will be lower that this. What download speed did BT say you should get?

You can find your home hub connection speed this way.

If you are using the BT Smart hub you can get your connection stats by, Opening a new web browser on your connected device and type 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home into the address bar. This will open the Hub Manager.  Click Advanced Settings’ and then ‘Technical log’

Re: Poor connection following house move

Thanks again, I was promised a download speed of up to 30Mbs so that’s about right.

I will get the connection stats and see what that brings.

cheers.
