Hello. Two weeks ago I moved into a new flat and have been waiting for my activation day with BT Broadband. This was yesterday and waited whole day for activation however it is still flashing purple despite receiving text and advice on the phone that it would be active. Everything is connected properly I have tried every other troubleshoot. The wall socket is a BT Openreach single input phone line. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we need this as soon as possible to work from home.
Have you got dial tone at the socket, is it the right number read back to you when you dial 17070?
We haven’t got a landline phone we were just wanting internet

Unless you get dial tone, there will be no Internet, as the line will be disconnected somewhere. You need to check that with a cheap wired phone (less than £10), as the problem could be within your property and nothing to do with BT.
Without testing with a phone you won't know if the problem is the line or just broadband. Best call 0800 800150 and find out what has happened.
Okay thank you! I’ll grab a phone. Tried ringing that number but never got past hold
You will need to be patient on that number, it is very busy.
If there is a problem that isn’t to do with BT couldn’t they still send an engineer as it’s them who is meant to install it, otherwise who do I contact? My landlord?
