In all he was charged just over £2k for the damage and repairs so turns out it was probably one of the most expensive kerb drops in history.


I would have fully expected the person causing the damage, even if it was accidental,  to be billed for the repair regardless of where the cable/ equipment was. I would only expect Openreach to "pick up" the bill if it was a fault or natural wear and tear of their infrastructure.
