I have a Smarthub 2 and am wondering if there is a setting somewhere that BT have activated in a firmware update that may be preventing me access certain devices on my network.
For example;
I can no longer control my Samsung Q85 TV using Alexa as I get a response saying ‘lounge tv isn’t responding, please check it’s network connection and power supply’. Additionally I cannot connect to this, or another (older) Samsung TV through the SmartThings app any longer.
I cannot using Apple Screen Sharing to screen share to this TV.
I cannot connect to my Onkyo amp using the Onkyo app to control the amp from my phone any longer.
All of these have previously worked on the existing Wi-fi network and using the current Smarthub 2 router.
I have tried contacting Samsung but they just insist on sending me a newer version of firmware on a usb stick in the post.
All of these things imply to me that something in the router is blocking inward commands in to these devices. They are all connected to the router fine and can for example Watch things online.
I’ve switched off BT Web protect as was suggested on another post for a not dissimilar issue but this hasn’t fixed my issue.
My Ring doorbell works fine (although typically slow) on the network as do a full house of Hue lightbulbs, although the Hue hub is connected to the router via Ethernet which isn’t an option for the TV’s and amp.
Try a factory reset of the home hub.
Then turn off smart setup.
Thank you for the suggestions.
I have performed both of these but to no avail.....!
