We have seen reports of a new Smishing (Phishing by SMS) whereby BT customers are being targeted.
An SMS message is circulating in which a text claims that we were unable to verify your billing and then directs the customer to click on a link to confirm their details or risk your account being terminated. The link contained in the SMS is shortened to h**p://ww.tb.mu/Wik8Mu which will direct the customer to h**ps://bt.mobilebilling20.com/
Don’t respond to the text
Think before taking action:
- is it out of the blue?
- If in any doubt contact the organisation through their reputable contact details
- Forward the text to 7726 (an easy way to remember this is that it spells out SPAM on the keypad)
