Hello,
My speeds recently have been awful. Generally my speeds are pretty terrible to begin with, around 11Mbps down is normal - it's the best I can get in my area so I've just got to put up with it. However, every night from 10pm till about 1:30am my speeds halve to around 5Mbps. It's also not uncommon during this time for my internet connection to totally give up altogether.
I really can't see anything I can do personally to resolve this issue. I'm using a wired connection direct to the Hub. The drop off in speed is totally out of my hands. My contract with BT said to expect speed from 11Mbps to 21Mbps so it's very disappointing to see speeds regularly below 11Mbps.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Cheers
welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
I've included to images of the pages you asked for. I don't have a landline phone in my flat so I can't do the quiet line test.
Cheers
Hello,
Usual time and usual issue. Internet is shockingly unstable and slow. Tried to do the broadband check you linked earlier and I got the following screenshot. So frustrating!
