Slow download speeds on FTTP 900

Hi,

I had FTTP900 installed last year and have never been convinced about the download speeds. Running speed tests when connected via cat 5e to the smart hub I am only getting around 230Mbps at the most download, upload speed seems to be fine at around 100Mbps. Depending which speed tests I use these do vary a bit but this would be a good average. Speeds are similar when connected via wi-fi near the router.

Is it the smarthub that is causing the issue? Would I get better speeds swapping to something else? Is there anything else I should try?

You can rule out the hub by directly connecting a PC/Laptop to the ONT and setting up a PPPoE connection.

Thanks For this, just managed to check today and showing as 180Mbps on fast.com when connect directly to the ONT.

Any help to sort this issue would be much appreciated.
