I have had BT Broadband for many years and have not changed my router the period. I have been getting 65Mbs for years but within the last few months its at a constant 42Mbs. I have tried checking my speed and also a diagnostic on the MY BT website but it wont give me the results of the test always showing the same response as below. I have also tried reporting it on line via their portal but it will not let me. I have always been pleased with BT and recommended them in the past but am now really frustrated that I cant even check the line and report a fault on line as I have in the past. If it continues I will try another supplier as there are better and faster deals in my area.

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

if you move ISP and are still on FTTC then you will still use the same connection and same copper wire to your home only difference will probably be a new router and a different name on DD

Thank you for your help. I do not have a BT Hub but a Netgear ORBI router with a Draytek Vigor 130 Modem. This system has been working extreemly well for several years and until recently with constant speeds in the 60+Mbs area.
