Two factor authentication

I can no longer view web mail as I need to set up two factor authentication - but i can't find the option to do this anywhere. Where do I set this up? Also, other members of the family with email addresses have the same problem so I need to sort them out. There seems to be nothing in the FAQ etc. Advice welcome as this is a problem - I need to access my webmail.

Thanks

Re: Two factor authentication

Ah thanks, finally found it. I assumed it would be in Manage Email.

Re: Two factor authentication

I set it up then decided to switch it off for now but it keeps taking me back to the setup page. Argh. Webmail remains unavailable. Any ideas?

Re: Two factor authentication

EDIT: This post crossed with your above replies so some of it may not be relevant.

The family members that have an email address from you MUST have the email account "gifted" to them and they MUST set up their own BTID so that they can manage the email account and if need be set up 2FA.

If they are not "gifted" the email account and then set up their own BTID their email account will be seen as one of your email accounts and any 2FA set up will notify you and you will have to acknowledge it every time 2FA is activated.

If you "gift" the email account to them and they set up 2FA it will notify them, assuming the have have a mobile phone, and they will have to acknowledge it in order to access then email account.

See link about "gifting" email accounts.

As regards your own 2FA set up, are you the broadband account holder and is the email account one that you set up on that BT Broadband account or is it one that was set up on a previous BT Broadband account such as a parents account or a previous BT Broadband account that you may have had?

If it was not set up on the present BT Broadband account you will need to associate it to that account so that you can manage it and set up 2FA.

Re: Two factor authentication

I'm the account holder and this is the email I set up as account holder. I was forced to set up 2FA which I have done but I still can't access webmail - just got three bouncing balls.

Re: Two factor authentication

Did you get the authentication text or email to confirm your identity when you were setting up 2FA in order to complete the process and did you then get a confirmation message that you had been successful in setting it up?

If all the procedure was completed successfully have you tried clearing the history and cookies from your browser?
