For my use, the BT TV package is a pretty perfect fit for me but I can see it won't work for everyone. I see it more as a product differentiator though and wouldn't have gone with BT for FTTP if they didn't have this.
I previously had a youview retail box and was looking to upgrade it but they as they no longer sell them and my previous ISP stopped offering their TV option (and didn't offer FTTP) I signed up with BT.
I assume BT have invested a fair bit in the development of the new boxes so can't see them ditching the platform anytime soon and if they did I'd have no problem heading elsewhere for my broadband.
