Using a Talktalk router with BT

hi I’m moving from talktalk to BT tomorrow.  The new BT router was due yesterday but they are out of stock and despatch is delayed (unbelievable by the way and not a good start!).   I’ve tried to get confirmation from BT that there won’t be any break in broadband service but they won’t confirm other than the changeover will happen tomorrow anyway and the new router will be on its way shortly.  Can I ask - if we do move to BT tomorrow and don’t have a BT router, can we still use the talktalk router but with a BT signal?  Thanks.

Re: Using a Talktalk router with BT

@PilarSteve

Welcome to this user forum.

No you cannot use a Talk Talk router, however if you read this thread, there is a cheap solution which works for both normal broadband and superfast broadband. You can usually get them from Argos (572/8882), or online elsewhere.

https://community.bt.com/t5/Bills-Packages/BT-equipment-delayed-due-to-go-live/m-p/2119756

For superfast broadband setup, you select "BT VDSL"

Your login details would  be broadbanduser@btbroadband.com and a password of bt

If you decide to use one of these, and need more help, then please ask here.

Without a suitable router, you will suffer a break in service.
