Which Hub should I get next?

I currently have a BTHub5, but it is getting on a bit, and evey now and then makes a funny, 'rustling' noise. I have recently renewed my contract with BT and have chosen to stay with Halo 1, but am contemplating buying a new hub. I live in a one-bed flat, with a tower pc in the living room for work and leisure use, and a laptop in the bedroom, for occasional use, so don't need an 'all singing, all dancing, makes the tea and toast model'.  If I went for the new Smart Hub 2, would I need to buy a disc as well, or would it work without a disc? Would I be better off looking at the basic Smart Hub? Any advice would be gratefully received. thank you.

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post.

If you give us a call on 0800 800 150 and report that your hub is faulty then we would be able to replace your hub free of charge. Normally when the hub starts making strange sounds it also starts to get a little hot to the touch.
