New build estate, fibre to the premises installed since Dec 2017. Since then, the BT wholesale broadband checker has only ever said the maximum I could get was 330Mbps. Until the release of the 500 and 900 packages, I didn't realise this was an issue.
Anyway, can anyone tell me why my Exchange doesn't have up to 1000Mbps as being the max speed available? Is it a technical issue or a database issue?
I'm aware of an ECI equipment issue but I don't believe it's that as I have a Huawei ONT. For reference, it's the Kirkcaldy/Beveridge Exchange (cabinet 56).
@iniltousThere's plenty of backhaul bandwidth available. The kit in the exchange will be needing upgrade then 1Gb will become available.
On digging a bit deeper into this, properties in a nearby estate connected to the same exchange are showing as being able to order up to 1000Mbps on the BT Wholesale checker.
Nearby property, same exchange..
My property, same exchange...
Can anyone from BT have a look into this for me or offer any reason for the disparity? Keen to renew my contract and upgrade if possible.
phone the FTTP team and see if they can help 08005874787
Tried that, twice. Unfortunately both times I was put through to someone that was more intent on selling me BT TV than doing any sort of digging into my query.
The FTTP team are the only ones who can help you , keep trying.
