Youview not recording

I know this has been asked many times before & I've digested all the information regarding  the youview box not recording, but My issue is as follows.

I Took delivery of the youview box 3wks ago for the watching of Moto GP via the BT sport channels, last week all was well & all recorded  fine, this week, set the recording for Friday with the series link to record all weekend & future recordings, sat down Friday evening  & the message "failed to record" was displayed! So missed a whole day of bike racing, read the forums & it recommends  "a full factory reset" which I duly done & reset all the recordings for Saturday  & Sunday to record once again.

Saturday all went OK, but today (Sunday)  after last night ensuring the schedule was set to record today,  it hasn't  recorded the series link that was there last night! The youview box was in standby overnight but turned on at the mains, the schedule hadn't changed, the channel hadn't changed, all was as it should be. Having no trust whatsoever in the box is there anything I can do to ensure this stops happening??

They have a habit of breaking existing series links when making any slight adjustment to coverage. I have got into the habit of double checking the EPG to make sure *all* the coverage for that day is set to record - don't just rely on what it says on the Scheduled list screen.

That said, this weekend I have not seen any problems with the MotoGP timers since setting them earlier in the week so it could be something else in your case.

Of course it would nice to have the back up of them putting all the coverage on catch up and not just the actual races.  Only need it up for, say a week if they are worried about having it up for the whole season would clog up the system.  Eurosport Player does it for their superbike coverage.

Thanks for your reply, really appreciated.
It would be great as you say to have the full re runs, maybe it's rights related that they don't.
I used to have BT sport via the Sky platform & it never missed a beat, but the youview box seems somewhat temperamental. Its the last race of the season today so hopefully by spring a fix will be in place! But if I have to check the epg each time I record a series, I'll be getting on to BT as that's not fit for purpose.

Can I ask which box you have .. Is it the BT TV Box pro ?

How is the box connected to the  home hub  , Wi-Fi , direct Ethernet  cable , or via any devices ?

Which homehub do you have ?

Is the problem occurring  solely for recordings made when the box would be in standby mode ?

When you  bring the box out of standby have you noticed any irregularities occurring , ie do you get the normal Home Screen and does viewing continue on the channel you were last watching before you put the box into standby .

Hi, yes, its the BT TV Youview Pro connected via WiFi from a BTHub 6 smart hub I think it is. I did get the latest smart hub from bt but thought it was unlikely to make a difference as I get a good connection of 25 Meg with our current set up.........but I'm beginning to wonder now.
We watch our TV via sky & only have the bt TV for moto gp so don't know if its behaving oddly on start up etc im afraid.
