after decades of BT running a monopoly on telecoms in the UK you would have thought that ofcom would have shut them down by now !
work from home - joke - our broadband is so slow 2 people can't use the internet at the same time !
BT or backward telecom as they are known in the trade - well done for nothing
welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
BT RETAIL do not have any monopoly on your broadband and like other ISPS apart from Virgin use the connection provided by openreach (NOT BT Openreach) the speed would be the same with any other ISP apart from virgin
of course the use of different names is useful but we all know BT openreach not openreach whatever still amounts ti the same thing . most isp's apart from fibre providers use old BT backbone which has been left for dead in comparison to most if the world !
had approximately 25 engineers over many years - still slow and I believe it always will be
no thumbs up I'm afraid
i thought you came to the forum to see if you could get some assistance but obviously not. That is entirely up to you but just to clarify openreach are a totally separate entity to BT Retail and monitored by OFCOM to ensure all ISPS are treated equally by openreach
I posted message on the forum and your interpretation of that is tour choice.
I thought the "community" forum was not just a place to request help from BT, I obviously have the normal BT process available as I have done many times before to raise a technical issues.
Perhaps I was just using the forum to communicate my frustration with the service ?
then that is not a problem
your post does not go to BT as this is just a customer help customer forum
