fttp question

Hi,

I have a question about FTTP, they have started putting duct down for the new service and throughout our town. some  accross the road from me have it already with the fibre drop boxes on the poles but the 3 poles from me 1 of those  have had work with blue rope and the duct at the bottom just visible.

Now when fibre goes into the duct up the pole how does it go to the other 2 poles that is if their connected somehow?

do these go underground or overhead. Giving that the duct only serves that one pole i would assume
this would go overhead or not

i have seen work done on other poles but can't work out how they managed to do several poles with
this and some others only serving 1 pole with others missed out.

We also have virgin media but would rather stick with bt.

Thanks

Re: fttp question

They don’t put CBT, Connectorised Block Terminals on every Pole. The Connectorised Fibre Drop Cable comes in pre made lengths of between 33m and 350m so as long as you’re within 350m of one you should be OK.

Re: fttp question

Thanks for your speedy reply.

Yeah the pole that's being done is around 40m down and the closest pole up is around 3m

Just have to wait and see what happeneds.

Thanks again 🙂
