"Smart" Wi-Fi Channell selection on BT Smart Hub6 (FTTP)

Hi All,

My BT Hub6 is set to "Smart" select wi-fi channels (the default set up). It chooses Ch.1 for 2.4GHz and Ch.13 for 5GHz.

Almost every (PC- or Mobile-based) "Wi-Fi Analyzer" I look at says these are not the best channels to be selecting.

So:

Q1. What exactly is the "Smart" channel-selector doing? How's it work? What's the algorythm? Etc.

Q2. Which is 'right' - the "Smart" selector in the router or every other Wi-Fi Analyzer?

Inform me up!

Cheers,

--N.

smart is supposed to select best channel for your wifi taking into account others is use.  personally I would use the wifi analyser and select your own channel manually
