BT 4600

Elderly parent has BT 4600 call blocker phone with 3 handsets.  2 handsets downstairs work fine.  3rd handset upstairs has an almost silent dialling tone.  I can just about hear it but parent can’t as has poor hearing.  Keeps saying phone is dead.  
I’ve looked through user guide but no mention is made of how to increase volume of dial tone.  
any ideas?

Unfortunately this is a known fault with these handsets, the earpiece fails with low volume. I have the same issue with one of mine, and its been reported before on this forum.

There is no fix for it, however if they press the green button once they answer the call, the phone goes to speaker mode, and you can hear the calls through the speaker.

If your BT4600 is still under guarantee, then you can request a replacement handset.

If its out of guarantee, then yo can purchase a replacement handset from Discomm, who are a BT approved spares supplier.
