BT 6600 Answer Phone Problem

I have a problem with the answer phone facility on my BT 6600 phone. People are leaving messages as normal, but they are not appearing on the phone, itself. I have re-checked all of the settings and deleted all old messages, but callers think they have left a message, and it is not appearing on the phone

I suspect the calls are actually being answered by BT's 1571 Voicemail service. Call the number & see if they're there. A pulsed dial tone usually indicates waiting messages.

If you prefer your own machine to answer then I believe you can set a combination of answer delays so that the machine answers before 1571.
