BT Mesh Discs

can I buy black mesh discs from BT or only rent them? I cannot see them for outright sale on the BT site.

They are available to purchase at £100 each!

Re: BT Mesh Discs

Complete WiFi discs which only mesh with the SmartHub 2 can only be rented. (Edit - just seen post that says you can actually buy them).

Whole Home WiFi discs - which work with any router - are bought outright.

TBH if you have a SmartHub 2 you might want a new EE router before long, in which case you will be glad you rented rather than bought.

Edit: you need to have a disc for longer than 20 months to make it worthwhile buying outright.

Re: BT Mesh Discs

any thanks, I looked under BT Broadband accessories but I am taken to an EE page showing Whole Home wifi and a number of other products., Eventually found the Hibs but not how to buy them.   All rather strange but  thanks again.

Re: BT Mesh Discs

Thanks. I have done the sums hence buying as not expecting to change the router, or at least if I did I would get a generic one not BT SM 2,,, but why am I likely to want to change a new EE  Router  soon?   I am likely to go for a TP Mesh system anyway but wanted to check the price BT charge for an outright purchase.

Link to buy one https://secureorder.bt.com/consumerOrders/control/orderproduct?productId=CON-27455&productKey=CON-CP...

Still expensive compared with complete third party mesh systems.

The TP Link Deco range are very good.
