Well, make sure your end is clean at least. Fibre to cabinet at least. Copper to house yes, but i expect it to have more thickness then the lousy cable given by BT between socket and router, a non twisted, non shielded cable, i replaced it with a cat6a twisted shielded shorter cable. As wifi near BTs supplied RJ11 cable was painfully obvious to my gaming, my new cable removed the odd lag freezing caused by what must of been emi.

Are you saying as a serious gamer you are using wifi for your gaming connection!

Re: BT's shop is confusing, modems, the routers etc..

I agree weak part of the chain, hence i replaced BTs RJ11 cable and my lag spikws in gaming has gone. The copper to the house must of be at least thicker than BTs invisibly thin copper RJ11. So i made an improvement there. I can improve with my own modem/router once more. The copper to my house suffices, until FTTP.

No need to get smarmy. I don't use wifi. Wifi radiation from the smart hub, on the RJ11 cable from BT i said. I did not say i use wifi.

The copper to your house is probably thinner than the RJ11 cable. Some of the copper network is only 0.2mm gauge and is definitely not shielded but is twisted although at a very loose twist rate.

And there is no need for you to get smart!

You said "As wifi near BTs supplied RJ11 cable was painfully obvious to my gaming"  which inferred to me that you were using wifi.

Hopefully, you have gained a lot more knowledge than you obviously had or rather did not have when you first started this thread so I will leave now and let the others on this thread try and educate you further.

Re: BT's shop is confusing, modems, the routers etc..

Getting smart? Really. I'm relaying facts. Inferred, no. The cable connects to the router so has to be immersed in radiation.

Educate me further?

I've probably said things that educated you, further...
