Do the compelte wifi discs daisy chain?

My smart hub is currently in one corner of the house, I have added a smart disc to the opposite corner of the house which works great. I have a garage which is relatively close to the smart disc, if I add a smart disc to the garage, will it connect to the smart disc or does it need to be able to connect to the smart hub? It should be close enough to connect to the wifi disc but not close enough to connect to the smart hub.
