Certain address ranges are “private” in-so-far as they are only valid inside a network. They will not work out on the internet because routers will not pass them on to the internet.
Anything beginning with 192.168.x.x is one such range.
That is why you can call your router 192.168.1.254 and I can also call my router 192.168.1.254. Even Licquorice can call his router 192.168.1.254. The whole world, his brother and dog can call their router 192.168.1.254. They don’t clash with anyone else because they can’t go out onto the internet and cause confusion. They are only valid inside a network.
That means 192.168.1.254 has to be a device inside your network. Which is why I said it doesn’t need HTTPS and an encrypted connection, and you can ignore the “risky” connection warning. You are hardly going to hack yourself after all.
