House Phone Problem

I have a new Bt house phone. The phone and the broadband is with virgin. I have plugged the phone into the socket but am not able to make or recieve calls. The best we can get is when we try to ring the phone and here the ringing.

I am not sure what the issue is why is it not ringing and why can't i recieve calls? The old phone worked fine...

This is a BT Retail Customer Forum.

You would be better asking on the Virgin Media forum, as there may be a compatibility issue. I assume you are plugging it into the Virgin Media box?

The other option would be to contact the BT product helpdesk to see if your phone is compatible with VM. Perhaps its faulty?
