Re: Latest update to Smart Hub 2.

I've never had updates of firmware cause any problem but others may say different. I think that the he SSID /Password in not recognised by all your previously connected stuff.

Re: Latest update to Smart Hub 2.

Mine updated on the 16th and I updated a second unit on the 17th.  Both are fine, including any connected devices.  I think the Amazon Guy was dodging the issue and giving you the easy answer.  (From his point of view).

Are you sure you factory reset it correctly?  The button needs to be held in for about 30 sec, until the light on the front goes green, rather than just a quick press.

The WPA2 will be PSK (Pre-shared key).  (That’s the version used in the home market.  The industry version is a little more advanced).  If you have reset their SSID and password correctly it should work.

What you may find is that you need to temporarily disable the 5GHz, then go round and turn the other devices off and on again to force them to reconnect.  Sometimes the 5GHz interferes with old devices doing that on 2.4GHz.  Once everything is connected you can turn the 5GHz back on again.

Re: Latest update to Smart Hub 2.

thank you, I cant remember but very possible my attempt at FR not long enough but then I did that with Amazon and they timed, my only clock in house was my Echo show.  I have been over all this many times now with Amazon and probably the best was a young girl at BT who was brilliant sounded like the one who knew all this the best, she not only went over all the BT side but then the Amazon too, nothing is working though, she did disconnect the 5GHz but we didnt at that point turn everything off again.  I will start over again tomorrow.  Just one thing, I do still have an Echo Dot, this has not been changed as I cant remember how to do it, I am scared to try anything as its the only thing that talks in the house even if she only says she cant connect!  I will just remove the power though and see if that helps.
