New BT VoIP phone sets

Go to solution

I am looking to purchase your BT Premium Phone (model 90632)  - Three Handsets package,  but a number of websites are saying they are out of stock, including your own BT/EE.  Is this because you are not producing this model any more or is there a new model due to come out?

This is a customer to customer self help forum, you are not talking to BT.

They are not VoIP handsets they are just standard cordless DECT handsets.

Thanks for making me aware, I wrongly assumed this was monitored by BT personnel as well.

Having switched our lines from the old analogue I assumed we need to upgrade.  Our current DECT phones are old and keep cutting out.  What is the difference between a DECT phone and a VoIP phone please?  Should I be looking at a VoIP phone?

Thank you

Although BT Digital Voice is a VoIP system, you don't need VoIP phones to use it.

The BT Smart Hub2 contains a built in ATA (analogue telephone adapter) and built in DECT (cordless) base station.

BT originally supplied free DV handsets that connect directly to the hub but no longer supply them.

Any DECT handset can be registered directly to the hub or the base station can simply be plugged into the green phone socket at the rear of the hub.

Having just re-read your post, you mention lines plural. If you are a business customer ignore my previous post, the business system is different to the residential service.

You need to post on the business forum for advice.

We only have one line in so apologies for the confusion, I was referring to one for phone, and internet.

So in summary, we are ok to go for a DECT trio phone set on the digital service as it is not about to become antiquated.

Thank you for your asistance.

Indeed.

All that changes is where you plug in the base station.
