Post deleted

I just posted my first ever post, and it was marked as spam and deleted, despite having a link to a video I took the time to create to show the issue?  Is this because its my first ever post??? Can this please be fixed. Thank you.,

Re: Post deleted

It may have been the video.  Anyway, what's the problem?

Re: Post deleted

I wonder whether the bit where I linked to several other threads about the same or similar issue triggered an automatic spam filter solely because of the number of web-links (URLs).  Could a moderator please review the post?

Re: Post deleted

The mods don't necessarily read all posts and even if they do, they don't have access to individual accounts.  This is just a customer-to-customer help forum but there is a lot of experience on here and a lot of us are ex-trade/retired trade.  If you want help, explain what the problem is and I'm sure someone can suggest something.

Re: Post deleted

It was to do with a firmware bug (DHCP reservation) - I investigated and posted the results complete with evidence, steps to reproduce, and specific examples (a printer, a Windows 11 PC, and even a Linux VM).

Edit: I was actually hoping someone at BT would look at it.

Edit 2: Shall I repost without all the links to other people's posts?  The links were all within this forum, except the youtube video.

Re: Post deleted

Just post the problem if you want forum assistance. You can also include the inks to previous posts but any video could have malware links hence why deleted

Re: Post deleted

Okay thanks - I'll try again; perhaps leaving the video to a separate reply will do the trick

Re: Post deleted

You still seem to be very reluctant to explain what the problem actually is.

Reservations are notoriously temperamental.  Just off the top of my head then a couple of points that usually trip people up.  Firstly,  I take it you are aware of the difference between a static address and a reservation?  Reservations should be part of the address range the DHCP is issuing and static addresses should be outside of that range.   Secondly, reservations identify the device by the MAC address.  If the device uses MAC randomisation for privacy that will screw up a reservation.

Re: Post deleted

It just happened again in here.  I removed the video web-link, but left the links to other people's posts (all within this forum).  It appeared for a moment, then when I clicked the reply button on it, before I could do anything else, it said I don't have permission, so looks like it was marked again.

Re: Post deleted

Ah, that sounds as though one of the links you are referring to has been archived and you don't have permission to access it.

Forget the links and the video.  Just tell us what the problem is.  It's getting past my bedtime...😂🤣😂🤣
