Re: Smart hub 3

@Bishopjoshua10  Perhaps the question you should have asked is, as perhaps an existing customer, how did you get a brand new just released Smart Hub 3so quickly?

One word answers of 'Yes' don't exactly incite much interest for those of you who are interested in how it performs against the beloved SH2.

Re: Smart hub 3

As with all things, there's good and bad.

Good: It is WiFi 6 with WPA3 and has a guest WiFi facility.

Extremely bad: DSL connection speed is shown but not noise margin. One without the other is pointless.

The WiFi password is mandated to be 16 characters in length.

Re: Smart hub 3

As per @licquorice  post plus like SH2 the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz can not be split.

You can not change the device name of any of the devices connected to it or if you can I have not found out how to do it either on the MyBT app or management page using the web interface.

The 5ghz chanel is fixed by Smart Wifi and unlike the 2.4Ghz channel which can be changed it can not be selected by the user.

Other than that it appears fine but nothing to get excited about.

@licquorice  @gg30340

Interesting points.

To be honest, I’m wondering if the long-term answer to my problems with the new Draytek, (that despite a lot of back and forth, they have still not pin-pointed), is to dump DV and go to a separate VoIP connection, hence dumping BT kit altogether.

The points you’ve mentioned have only strengthened that view.

In this day and age, the minimum should be 6E. Around 20% of my devices  connect to the 6GHz band. Mind you my WiFi Analyser shows I am the only one on the 6GHz band in my neighbourhood and I hope it keeps that way 🙈
