Hi which type of cable do I need to connect a BT Freestyle 750 base station to the phone socket? The original cable got damaged and thrown away (I didn't realise there were different types or I would have kept it) so I can't buzz-out the cable to check the wiring.
I tried a cable from a different make of handset but it didn't work - no dial tone (I note it only had two pins). I purchased this cable off eBay which was 4 pin but it didn't work either. I cut the cable I bought and re-wired it so that looking at both ends with the copper connectors face-up, the leftmost pin on one was wired to the leftmost pin on the other and the next leftmost to the next and so on and this seemed to work.
I think I need one of these but is is "straight" wired or "rollover" that I need ?

You need to edit out the links to ebay. It is against forum rules to post ecommerce links.
Hi @subspace
Welcome to the community.
I believe it should be a straight-wired cable to connect the BT Freestyle 750 to the wall socket.
