HI, I'm needing to extend my Wi-Fi signal outside into my garden area.
I can do this with a PoE based external Wi-Fi antenna (e.g. EAP11--Outdoor 300Mbps Wireless N Outdoor Access Point).
My question.....does the external RJ45 port on the back of the wholhome wifi disc support PoE devices?

It would be best to give the WHW product helpdesk a call on 0808 100 6116 ( Mon to Fri 9am to 5.30pm and Sat 9am to 2pm) or drop them an email to: btconnectedhome@bt.com and they'll be happy to advise.
I would expect that you would have to use a separate PoE injector and an external power supply.
OK - so no help from the BT Helpdesk other than .... "we don't support PoE".
What the Helpdesk FAILED TO DO, is think a little bit broader and offer some suggestions / ideas that I would expect an IT savvy support person to do!
So, after a bit of research, I purchased a WavLink AC600 Dual Band Outdoor Wi-Fi Range extender (£56.00). This included a PoE converter.
The config to achieve external wifi now, across all my garden is:
1. Connect standard ethernet cable from WHWF Disc to the standard ethernet port on the PoE converter.
2. Cat6 Ethernet cable from the PoE converter to the WavLink extender (cable through the wall).
3. Wavlink extender configured as Lan Extension.
I now have external WiFi across all my garden. Result!!!!
No, you need a separate POE injector as described in the solution.
