Wi-Fi extender

Hello,

I’ve recently joined bt and I wanted to get a extender as the Wi-Fi isn’t the best in one room.

Ive had a look around and I’m lost as I’ve found a few bt devices but some work with others, and others don’t work with other devices.

I have a bt smart hub 2, I googled if there was a extender that worked with my router and I found a ( bt whole home Wi-Fi disc) I then googled this device and found ( I could be wrong) I need to get two one for the router and one for where the signal is weak.

so my question is, is there a bt extender that 100% works with a bt smart hub 2? Or if I that whole home Wi-Fi disc would work just fine.

thanks for reading. Thank you in advance!!

Re: Wi-Fi extender

@Jap998

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

Have you looked at BT Complete Wi-Fi?

BT loan these disks, but you can buy a single one from the BT Shop, but they are not cheap

You only need one, as they connect wirelessly to the Smart Hub 2.

If its just one room affected, then a wireless hotspot device would be a much cheaper option.

Re: Wi-Fi extender

Hi,

thabks for getting back to me so quickly!

I think the hotspot device would be the option here. I did have one before with my previous isp, but the ethernet cable bt gave me with the smart hub 2 didn’t fit the hotspot device is there any reason for this would you know?

I don’t want to buy one and have the same problem as I don’t want to have to go and buy another Ethernet cable because the one I have doesn’t fit again.

Re: Wi-Fi extender

Ethernet cables are all the same, so there is no reason why you should have difficulty connecting between the Smart Hub 2 and the hotspot Ethernet port.

Re: Wi-Fi extender

I’d recommend repurposing a router as a wireless point. Doesn’t cost anything if you have an old one.
