Hello gg and anybody else who has the "Goes to Drafts and won't send" issue.
This is NOT a solution but it IS a workaround.
Summary – delete new outlook and install classic outlook. I know this is defeats the object of having W11.
Take a deep breath and do this :
- Download and save your contacts, as they will disappear.
- Open outlook, display your folders and at the bottom click “Remove account” do it. (Don’t worry, your BT website is an IMAP and so still holds all the emails)
- Close Outlook and turnoff the PC .
- Wait 30 seconds or so and then turn the PC back on and open new outlook.
- Up on the ribbon you will see “Go to classic outlook “
- If you can’t see it, go to the far right of the ribbon and click the down arrow, then click “classic ribbon” Click that and then "go to classic". It will take you to Apps > Installed apps > outlook. Click the three dots and click “uninstall”
- Follow the instructions from then on to uninstall new outlook and to install classic outlook.
- Close your PC again, wait 30 seconds and then switch it back on.
- Click the Windows icon to bring up the Pinned menu. Classic Outlook is under the “Recently added” group, NOT on the pinned. Click it and it will open.
- The go to the bottom of your folders list and add any accounts you need. Follow the instructions to do so.
- Get your contacts reloaded.
- You are all set !
- TOP TIP – delete new outlook from the pinned menu, otherwise it will always open as the default email client. I also dragged classic outlook to my task bar as that is where I am used to seeing it.
Hope this is of some help.
