Re: Access to smart hub
You have to connected to your BT Smarthub to get wifi. You can not be in a different location and connect to the BT Smarthub in order to use its wifi which only has a range of less than a hundred meters or so.

Re: Access to smart hub
To get broadband from your smarthub you must either connect your computer to it using an ethernet cable or connect your computer, tablet, mobile phone etc via WiFi, which as has been said has a range of 100 metres or less.
There is no way to "remotely" access your smarthub.
However, you can opt into BT's/EE's WiFi - if you agree to make your hub's WiFi signal available to people outside your house but within its WiFi range, then you get access to other people's WiFi from their hubs.
