Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

It depends

If you order 500mbps and above then yes you receive a wifi 6 router with the option of wifi 7 (£10 monthly extra)

Anything less and you'll be expected to keep the SH2.

You can always request a new router as a new EE customer but it's not guaranteed.

@Kodikid

So when I switched from BT to Plusnet using One Touch Switching, PN sent me a brand new version of the SH2…….

Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

@Kodikid

I get it that the EE router won’t work with PN, but the BT SH2 does. I didn’t change speeds either.

I’ve no intention of trying a EE router on Plusnet, why would I? let alone the fact that I don’t have an EE router to try anyway.

Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

If you look on the EE forums there are lots of disappointed swappers who thought they would get a wifi 6 router.

The BT/EE rationale is you only need wifi 6 on its higher speed packages

If you currently have a SH2 on a less then a 500mbps package EE see no need to replace your current router.
