BT Battery Back Up - Extension Cable Needed

I've just had full fibre installed. The splitter cable for the battery back up box is not long enough to reach the new router in my preferred location for it.  So, I need an extension cable.

BT Support tell me they don't have them

Does anyone know of a 3rd party supplier that has suitable 2m or 3m power lead extension cables with female to male connectors?

I’m not sure what they are using today but if it is still the dc barrel connector, you should be able to get an extension lead off Amazon.

The trick is to get the right size plug.  Unplug the power unit and try a metric drill bit in the plug.  If a 3mm doesn’t fit, try a 2.5mm, if that doesn’t fit it will almost certainly be a 2.1mm

Alternatively of course you could just plug the battery back up box itself into a mains extension lead so it can be moved closer to the router.
