BT FTTP Installed Last Year

Go to solution

Hi All

I had BT FTTP installed september last year all is working great but it seems i may run into an issue with where the openreach engineer installed the internal fibre cable along the door frame of the front door to my flat . I had a letter from my housing association this week informing me that they will be installing new fire doors and frames to all the flats in April now i don't know if the fibre cable run along the door frame is going to pose an issue or if im going to need to contact BT to try and have the internal cable rerouted .

Any advice is welcome on how to proceed with this .

They @Mister-T, thanks for reaching out to us about this.

We offer the option to request an ONT move at a cost, and if building work were to interrupt the existing cabling I'd expect this to be a similar process.

If you reach out to our customer care team, they'll be able to talk through all of your options for getting this sorted out.

At a loss....aka a charge of up to £160 to move a ont

Surely any fitter worth their salt could move and reinstall the cable without damaging it

@Kodikid I actually meant to type 'at a cost' in that instance, have amended the post to ensure that's clear 😊
