I have had my fibre 900 running for a couple of weeks now and yesterday started experiencing Internet drop outs. The drop outs are random and can happen every few, 30 or other minutes, there’s no pattern to it.
My ‘Fing’ network doesn’t register an Internet drop and neither does the technical log in the router.
I have been running several ping -t to see what is happening:
- one to the router internel IP, this ‘times out’ when the Internet drop is being experienced (expected)
- one to an external address - google.co.uk and as expected, this ‘times out’ at the same time as the router ping above
I’m guessing that the router is the problem - the gateway- the LAN side of the router is ‘tripping out’.
Should I just ask BT to issue a replacement router and try that?
